Hey! I have been in South Asia for nearly 3 months now- and as of today, I have moved (packed up my bag. and everything ) 9 times in the past 11 weeks. So, I figured I could explain my South Asia travels/ ministry in 9 parts, because all have been so different.
part 1:
We began our time in South Asia in a villiage, where we spent Christmas. It was very cold when we got here, none of us had winter clothes to stay warm after being in two hot countries for 3 months!
A Day in Villiage 1: (living in a christian villiage)
Everyday, I would wake up at 6 am, go to tea time, pound (there is no other word to be used) some chai before breakfast, go to ministry. There, we spent our time encouraging the church, some manual labor, and playing with the villiage kids outside of the dorms we were staying in. And when I say outside, like right outside our door.. sometimes they would invade, looking for the brothers (aka the boys)! In the afternoons we would spend time with God, hang out, and sometimes go into town. There is one place with wifi, it is called Life Cafe and they have the most American food you can find this side of Bangladesh.
Here, days are slow. This place feels so much like home- minus the chilly bucket showers. Coming to this country, the Lord was removing a lot of depression and anxiety I had been feeling through Thailand and Malaysia, showing me His joy is my strength and actually removing the depression, replacing it with joy. I got the opportunity to share this testimony at a church in another villiage a few weeks later! God met me here, in the warmth of the sunlight, all the nights I spent sick in the bathroom, in the cool mornings (especially in a place where I was not expecting to experience winter).
Two weeks after arriving here, we were told we were moving to a new village. Also, we spent Christmas here (my last blog!)
here are some pictures: (will be uploaded when I have good wifi haha)(go to instagram to see some though!! @sarahlgoodwin_)
