my squad arrived in thailand a 2 weeks ago, after 72+ hours of travel. sorry for the late update(:
last monday we began ministry at a school here in chiang mai. we will be teaching english to kids ages prek through second grade for the next two months!
and since starting I have realized many things:
– Thai kids are so cute. every single one of them have these blue bows in their hair for school, and they all are so cute with their bangs. and they love highfives, sometimes a fistbump if they’re feeling rowdy(:
– teaching is really hard. now add in foreign language.. and give the thai alphabet a google if you have questions.
– Holy Spirit within me carries the strongest spiritual presence in the room. and the whole world will know his name and his love. prayer over these kids is so freakin cool because they may not understand the love, but they know the Spirit of almighty love is here.
– I have been learning our ministry is not really teaching English.. it is prayer. when we enter the room, we carry the Holy Spirit with us, and the atmosphere changes. the more we pray, the more the Holy Spirit overflows.
here as in heaven
overflow in this place
fill our hearts with your love
you love surrounds us
you’re the reason we came
to encounter your love
spirit of god
fall fresh on us
we need your presence
–
your kingdom come
your will be done
here as in heaven
i have been learning so much from my father in the past three weeks, and walking into this season has been marked by discomfort and constant change. instead of being swayed by the waves, judges 6:12 is hilighted, when an angel of the Lord appeared to gideon and told him “the Lord is with you, mighty warrior.” I am a mighty warrior of the Lord, standing in the strength of my Father.
and currently making it known to these children they were born to be loved.
and keeping my eyes on Father
