living with people is hard. living with people day in and day out is hard. especially when we are dropped on the other side of the world with 40 strangers.
the Lord is so good. he prepared us in every way we needed to be, all of us hand picked for this journey. but he is growing is in our (sometimes) extreme discomfort here. month one was no joke. expectations were blown, facades wore down, shock is just now dying down. it has taken nearly 6 weeks to adjust and feel like myself again.
and this is where it starts getting good.
father has been teaching me about my perspective on those i am around. i tend to create a me (+ god) against the world mentality. and i am confident i am not alone.
but we are not against each other.
ephesians 6:12
for our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers of thus darkness, against evil, spiritual forces in the heavens.
so if we aren’t against each other, that’s godly, right? this led me to the mentality of loving from afar. but truthfully, this leaves space for satan to enter in.
john 15:12-13
this is my command: love one another as I have loved you.
no one has greater love than this: to lay down his life for his friends
because i was first fervently chased + chosen by my father in complete and perfect love, i choose to not be complacent and fervently chase after those god has placed me with.
1 corinthians 13:4-7
love is patient, love is kind. love does not envy, is not boastful, is not arrogant, is not rude, is not self-seeking, is not irritable, and does not keep a record of wrongs. love finds no joy in unrighteousness but rejoices in the truth.it bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
this is what loving all people all people looks like, but challenge yourself to look closer. how are you loving those around you? who are you holding at a distance, why?
let us be united by the grace+love+salvation we have freely received.
romans 12:9-11
let love be without hypocrisy. detest evil; cling to what is good.
love one another deeply as brothers and sisters. out do one another in showing honor.
do not lack diligence in zeal; be fervent in the spirit.
in other news, I am in need of some funds! please ask the lord if you should partner with me in this journey(:
