Life is funny in the way that most things typically don’t turn out how you expect them to. My team arrived in Mongolia about one week ago and immediately got thrown into nonstop ministry. We got to take part in a three day tent revival that occurs only once a year. We had just come off of 52 hours of traveling and we were exhausted and jet lagged. Not to mention two of my teammates were without their bags because the bags didn’t make it to the airport.

We were staying in gers (also known as yurts) which is essentially a big tent. The first day it rained nonstop. When we finally returned to our ger after a full day of evangelism we discovered that ours had a hole in the roof so the rain water had leaked all over our tent. Two girls beds were soaking wet and all of my clothes had also gotten wet. All of us just started dying laughing at the situation. This was my team’s first few days out on they field and just about anything that could have gone wrong had.

We could have reacted negatively and had bad attitudes; however, my teammates and I decided to take this all as a growing experience. We had all just left the comforts of our homes in America and were now in an extremely uncomfortable situation. Despite our less than great physical circumstances, we still serve a good God. God is still good even when I haven’t showered for a week straight. God is still good even when my clothes are soaking wet and smell like yurt. God is still good even when I am so physically exhausted after a 13 hour ministry day that I can’t even keep my eyes open. God is good in all circumstances.

And God showed up in BIG ways in the small town of Uvurkhangai. The tent revival was a major success and over 1,100 people showed up. The good news of the gospel was preached, worship songs were sung, and miracles were performed. My team got to witness people being healed right in front of our eyes. We got to see hundreds of people who had never even heard the name of Jesus before accept Christ into their hearts.

My team and I feel so honored that God entrusted us to take part in the tent revival ministry. God could have chosen another team, but he didn’t. God knew that my team would be capable to endure the difficult circumstances and the long days and be able to show up and push through. Last week was one of the most challenging and overwhelming weeks of my life, but it was one of the most impactful and I would not trade my experience.

Even though the first week being back on the World Race was NOTHING like what I anticipated, it ended up being one of the most memorable weeks of my life. I am so eager to see how the Lord continues to use me and my team in the country of Mongolia this month and I know that he has big things in store!!
