Dear agape,
Three months ago you were all strangers. Today you are my family. Three months ago you were beginning a brand new journey on this crazy thing called the World Race. Today you have already experienced so much and I have witnessed each of you grow and become more like Jesus each day.
Words cannot even express how thankful I am that I was able to be part of your journey even if it was only for three short months. Leading the six of you was one of the most challenging things I have ever done, but also one of the most rewarding. Each one of you taught me something and made an impact on my own story and my walk with Christ.
Macky girl — you taught me the beauty of invitation. You are one of the most inviting people I have ever met. You show love in such an open way that draws others in and makes them feel so seen and known. You seek others out and love them with so much intentionality. You are a gentle and comforting presence that makes others always feel safe.
Em— you taught me what it means to live out of complete generosity. You are one of the most giving people I have even met. You live out of a place of abundance, which shows just how much you trust the loving Father to provide all of your needs. You love others so well through serving them and giving without expecting anything in return. Your positivity and your humor brings light to any room you walk into.
Bailee— you taught me to always seek more and to not be afraid of convictions. You carry so much wisdom in the way you speak truth and you are always searching for how you can dive deeper with the Lord. You are not afraid to push yourself or ask God ways that you can continually die to yourself. Your strive for holiness is so inspiring and you call others higher simply in the way that you live your life.
Erika— you taught me what it means to humbly serve. You are a natural servant in the way that you so effortlessly give your time to others. You are always ready and available with a listening ear and a word of encouragement. Your bubbly and infectious laughter always brings a smile to my face. You bring a warmth to everything and everyone you encounter.
Grant— you taught me what it means to dream big dreams and to never settle. You have a creative energy that flows from within and is a beautiful gift that the Creator has blessed you with. Your passion and hunger for more is inspiring. I love the way that you connect with God in your own unique way and how you don’t try to fit the mold.
Jason— you taught me true faithfulness and steadfastness. You are always willing to do the small, sometimes unseen, but never unnoticed tasks. You live out of a place of humility, not seeking attention for yourself, but looking for ways to lift others higher. You are observant of those around you and you truly listen to what others have to say. You take in the world around you and you see things most people usually don’t.
So thank you to each one of you for letting me in and for loving me so very well. Having to say goodbye was harder than I ever could have imagined. But what a blessing that people who were strangers only three months ago have taken such a big spot in my heart. I came back out on the field to lead all of you and to give wisdom and insight into each of your spiritual journeys, but you all gave me so much more than that. I pray that as you finish out your WR journeys that God transforms each one of you in ways you could have never imagined. I pray that you keep pressing in and never give up.
xoxo,
SB aka Ms. Spigeon Harlow
