This month my team and I are located in Athi River, Kenya at the YWAM base. This month has been so incredible already. I wanted to give you all a little glimpse into what a typical day looks like for me and my team here in Kenya!

6:00 am wake up and go on a run with my teammates Paige and Emily Ann. We get to see the beautiful African sunrise as we run.

7:00 am breakfast in the dining hall that consists of oatmeal, peanut butter, bananas, and of course coffee.

8:00 am my team meets for morning prayer and each day a different member of the team leads. This is such a great way to start our day and set our minds on Jesus.

9:00-11 am we have work duty, which consists of cutting grass, cooking, helping out in the preschool, and doing any other tasks that need to get done around the base.

12:30 pm lunch time! We grab a quick lunch that typically consists of rice and potatoes.

1:30-5:00 pm we go to our afternoon ministry which includes going to different schools (all girls high schools, deaf schools, schools for the physically handicapped, and primary schools) or prison ministry. We prepare bible teachings, songs, and games for the kids.

6:00 pm dinner time! We eat dinner that is typically rice and beans (and sometimes chapati!)

6:30 pm my teammates and I usually go for an evening walk in the bush to watch the sunset. As we walk we get to see giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and antelope!

7:00 pm we have team time, which is time set aside for my team to intentionally hang out with one another!

7:30 pm we have a meeting with the YWAM staff where they debrief how ministry went for that day and discuss upcoming ministry for the next few days.

9:00 pm bed time! Yes I do go to bed at 9 here because after a long day I am exhausted and ready to get some much needed sleep.

So there you go! That is what a typical day in the life looks like here at the YWAM base in Kenya! The days are often busy, but the Lord has been teaching me so much this month. I absolutely LOVE Kenya and the work we are doing here. And when I do have free time I spend it laying in my hammock, reading, journaling, and going to a pool near by to soak up some African sunshine.
