"Receive this moment's experience with both hands. Don't waste it. Wherever you are, be all there!"
Even being on this amazing adventure, it is sometimes hard to be fully present every day as we are digging up a garden for the third day in a row or sweeping a patio that is going to be covered in leaves again in a few hours.
It's easy to start thinking about what we might be doing in the next country or what The Lord might be calling me to do when the race is over in December, but when we do this, we miss out on the things that The Lord has for us today; right now.
Even in boring, simple everyday tasks of life God speaks to us. In trips to the supermarket, in long bus rides (and even longer train rides), while sitting in class learning the same thing over and over again, or at work filing the same papers and asking the same questions day in and day out; God is there.
I want to encourage you all (and remind myself) to seek God in those moments that seem simple.
Instead of daydreaming about the future or looking back to exciting moments from your past, take a look around and notice the things around you in the present:
the people, the environment, the things that have always been there and yet you never noticed before.
Open your eyes to what God is showing you now, in this moment.
I promise, you won’t regret it.
