After being in a culture surrounded by people that don’t speak English for the past three months (and with us speaking very little Spanish), I have been constantly reminded that sometimes the language barrier doesn’t matter. We have spent the past three months playing charades, pointing in various directions or at things in the room and saying “Como se dice…(how do you say…)”, and using the few words we have learned in Spanish to try to communicate.
Sometimes it works.
Other times it just ends in throwing up our hands in an “I don’t understand” gesture; quickly followed by laughter.
And right there is the key:
Love and Laughter is universal.
It can be communicated without the use of words.
It knows no bounds.
It means the exact same thing in all languages.
The continuous laughter over the last three months and the love that has been shown in each place that we have been so far proves that our God is bigger and can overcome any obstacle that we think could stand in the way of furthering His kingdom.
Don’t let the laughter subside.
Never stop Loving!
