This picture came up on my facebook news feed tonight, and I began to read some of the comments left by people all around the country. To spare their identity, I blacked their name and pictures out. They were called to like the picture if they were going to Heaven, and comment if they were going to Hell.

After reading these answers, I about lost it. How can people be so lost in the world? How have we lost our identity? I decided to share with you guys my response.

What this picture says to me is three things: ONE. Hell is the hard way out. All you have to do is inch on down to the sign and let go of the peddle. You'll be in for one "hell" of a fall and have an extremely sore toosh. TWO. For the road to Heaven, there is no way possible for my car to get up that high of an incline. THREE. But my car doesn't go to Heaven. I'm escorted by my Father, who picks me up in His best shiny new limousine/carriage/ferrari/spaceship/convertible/you get the picture. This illustrator messed up big time.

But one might say: God wouldn't escort me. What makes me worthy of that treatment? I'm a sinner.

It says in I John 3:1, "How great is the love the father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!"Also in Galatians 3:26, "For in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith." Also in Galatians 4:4,6-7, "God sent His son to redeem those under law, that we might receive the full rights of sons…Because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out "Abba, Father." So you are no longer a slave, but a son; and since you are a son, God has also made you an heir."Also in in Romans 8:16, "The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children." And again in John: 14:4 "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you with me that you also may know where I am." Therefore: We are heirs. We are royalty. We are children. We are sons & daughters. We are His. We are worthy. He promised that He will come back and escort us, take us with Him to Heaven.

But one might ask: What exactly do we inherit as an heir?

It says in Titus 3:7, "Being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life." Also in Hebrews 1:14, "Are they not all ministering spirits sent out to serve for the sake of those who are to inherit salvation?" Also in James 2:5, "Has not God chosen those who are poor in the world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kindgom, which he has promised to those who love him?" And again in 1 Peter 3:7, "They are heirs with you of the grace of life."And again in Hebrews 11: 7, "By this he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness that comes by faith." Therefore: We are heirs of eternal life, salvation, the Kingdom, the grace of life, as well as heirs of righteousness.

But one might ask: Isn't it a choice though? How do we become an heir? The Bible doesn't say, "if creatures, then heirs."

We become heirs of God when we trust Christ for our salvation. Christ's sacrifice on the cross brings us forgiveness of sin and adoption into the family of God. It says in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really knew me, you would know my father as well." Also in John 15:5 "I am the vine, and you are the branches. If a man remaing in me and I in Him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing."Therefore: We are only heirs if we are heirs with Christ, through Christ, and in Christ. It is through Christ that we get to know God the Father.

So why not choose the easy way out? Let God escort you to the place you were made for, to the place He created for us to live with Him. We don't deserve the lavish treatment we will get in Heaven, or the grace that He gives us by having faith, but He loves us so much that we are worth it to Him. He is our father, our daddy, our papa, our Abba. His is our number one supporter and will never leave our side.
