So this is a blog my Father laid on my heart concerning the gift that he’s given me of authority as his daughter. First off I wanted to define the word, authority.
In the Bible, God gives authority in Romans,
Romans 8:14-17 "For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory."
I’ve always been told since I was born that I was a child of God, & I have believed it. But I never really understood the authority that came with that title. The authority that God is talking about, is the same authority that Jesus walked in while on earth. He performed miracles, raised the dead, made the blind see, by being filled with the Holy Spirit. He cast demons out of bodies, healed the sick, & cured leapers, etc.
I think one thing that I never really wrapped my head around was that he was completely, fully man. He did not do any of those miracles just because He is the son of God. NO. The only way he was able to do this was from the power of the Holy Spirit, which comes from the Father, which then in circle fills the body of Jesus as well. They are all three connected. The reason why He left this world, was so that we, his children, could experience the Holy Spirit in the same way that Christ did in authority over the evil one.
John 14:12 (Jesus comforting his disciples) "Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father."
Wow. I know this may sound crazy to some people reading this, & a lot may not believe some words that I am going to say. But there IS healing in the world today. I have witnessed it with my own eyes. I have placed my hands on sick people the last couple of days & they have been healed. I have felt the presence of the Holy Spirit in me in a burning sensation in my chest, that others around my have felt as extreme heat. HIS POWER IS REAL.
Another thing I used to get really frustrated in was praying, because I never looked deeper into it, & always considered it a one way convo. I knew he answered prayer, and I believed in the power of it, but never knew that God wanted more. He wants an actual relationship with me. I mean c’mon, He is my one true Father. What loving father wouldn’t want a relationship with his daughter? He wants me to be in communication with Him, but He also wants me to listen to His voice as well. He wants me to hear either His loud screaming voice, or even just listen for the slightest whisper. It’s not the same for everyone though!! So please do not get down when you are in search of Him & you do not hear or see physical or spiritual things. He is in pursuit of you whether you like it or not, & as long as you are searching for Him with everything, He will show himself to you in one way or another.
Over the last couple of days, I have seen and felt the Holy Spirit working in every single one of my teammates on the race. I am seeing things I never knew about before, and never knew if I ever truly believed. I believed in the power of prayer, but I did not think that we could possess the same abilities and authority that Jesus had while on earth. How awesome is JESUS!!! Praise his name!!
John 14: 5, 25-26 Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?” Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.”
“All this I have spoken while still with you. But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you."
Therefore, in order to know Jesus, we have to know the Holy Spirit, and in order to know the Father, we have to know Jesus, and in order for the Father to know us, we have to invite the Holy Spirit into our hearts to begin the process of knowing all THREE parts of our GREAT GOD!! It’s one great big circle of love!! 🙂
We have so much authority as sons and daughters of our God. Don’t be afraid to use it!!
