To make it easier to read, here are 25 ways to get to know me! I love color- I may have gotten a bit carried away =)
1. I grew up in Memphis, TN- went to the same school as Big Mike in the movie the Blind Side! (Briarcrest Christian School)
2. I get in these moods where I just crravveee chocolate all the time (especially chocolate chip cookies!)
3. I am not a morning person whatsoever. I am the type that could sleep in till early after noon, and I LOVE naps!
4. I like to cook even though I'm not so good at following directions sometimes =) I like to get creative
5. I have this super awesome virus in my eye that some people label as a disability (causes blurred vision) but I have found it as an outlet God gave me to relate to those with disabilities/misfortunes/etc.
6. The Lord has given me a passion for working with people with disabilities as well as the homeless or poverty stricken
7. I used to be a super fast, crazy, speed demon driver, but three speeding tickets caused me to slow my roll =)
8. Netflix and Apple TV are God's greatest gift in technology. I watch at least one movie/tv show a day with my roommates
9. I am blessed to have the best cook in the world as my mother (maybe my new world race family will get some of her infamous brownies on launch day!)
10. I tried out Veganism once… absolutely loved it, but deciding to start it up again when I don't have roommates who tempt me with fried rice and pizza all the time
11. I can be a neat freak, but only when cleaning other people's things; the neatness in my own room comes and goes lol
12. I've met the man of my dreams — who knew I'd get a man from Texas =)
13. I absolutely hate, beyond hate, heights!! I would definitely have to be bribed in order to do something crazy on the WR
14. I played collegiate soccer for 3, almost 4 years and have a drive for teamwork
15. I have never officially camped out before, never carried a backpack, and have never, ever showered without an actual shower… I am in for a rude awakening!! (and those holes in the ground they call toilets where we are going, I'm secretly working on my squats until launch!! ahh!)
16. I am an art major (painting) with a passion for working with people– and have found God lead me to an interest in getting my masters in Art Therapy!
17. I'm the type of person that loves sitting down and talking to people about struggles in their life (I'm talking hours upon hours of conversation!)
18. I am a great listener, however, love to talk as well– I will tell you anything and everything about my life. I'm definitely no introvert
19. I am a spoiled, only child, and adopted. However in no way, shape, or form, have I ever considered my family not my own. I am beyond blessed to have been put in the arms of my mother and father. I cannot imagine a life without their daily encouragement and support.
20. I love taking pictures and making videos— I need Final Cut Pro for the WR because I just got a new computer (If anyone has an extra serial number let me know!) … but I'm your girl when it comes to making a video for every country we go to!
21. I love music.. and can honestly say I like any type. Being from Tennessee, I grew up on country music of course, but range from bands like the Civil Wars, to needtobreathe, to the Avett Brothers, to Fun, to classical piano like Yiruma (YES I play piano a little), to even techno/bassnector.
22. I am the first one to volunteer any of my possessions — everyone is family in my book.
23. I love driving and take all my friends everywhere— HOWEVER, I am selling my baby jeep liberty for the WR this December 🙁
24. I housesit in order to make money in colllege– sooo I loooovee animals (specifically BIG dogs)
25. I am always up for spontaneous trips and have at one point taken a road trip every weekend for 2 months
So I hope this shows you some of my passions in my life, and how I interact with the world around me. I am so excited and blessed to be going on the World Race. I cannot wait to see the world that God made for us in a totally and completely different perspective than my everyday life. I cannot wait to give up everything for the Lord– (including my love for chocolate!!)
