Hey y’all 🙂

I just wanted to say how excited I am to write my first blog! I have never written one before. This blog will be for updates on my journey on the World Race. It will also be on how you can pray for me and my squad right now and when we leave on the field.

What is the World Race?

The World Race is an 11 month mission trip that entails going to 11 different countries around the world and sharing God’s Word with His people while doing good works in each community.

The countries I will be going to are:

Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Malawi, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

Through the World Race, my team and I will serve in partnership with churches and ministries in local communities to preach the Gospel, plant churches, work in orphanages, minister to women and children trapped in prostitution as a result of human trafficking, and bring restorative hope of the Father’s love to many tribes and nations

I will face many challenges all throughout the World Race, but as I prepare for my departure, one of my greatest challenges is my financial support. Like most other missions organizations, World Race participants are required to fundraise financial support. In order to leave fully funded on September 4, 2015 I need to raise $16,267. This money will cover all of my field expenses for the 11 months of the trip. As I take this large leap of faith while trusting the Lord, would you prayerfully consider joining me at $100 monthly or any amount you feel lead to give. I know that if it is God’s will for me to partake in this journey, then He and His people will provide it!

 About Me:

My name is Sarah Timms and I am from Spartanburg, SC. I love living in the South where their is sweet tea and grits. I am a senior at Anderson University majoring in Kinesiology.

5 Facts About Me:

1) I love swing/shag/contra dancing and just regular dancing

2) I am sucker for corny jokes…they make me laugh

3) My favorite Bible verse is Psalm 32:8

“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.”

4) I am on the golf team at Anderson University

5) I graduate in 51 days…which is crazy, because college has flown by!

Right now God is teaching me patience through this journey. I am learning daily to lean on Him and to trust Him no matter the situation because ultimately He is in control and has already prepared my path for me. I am very excited to embark on such an incredible journey that God has called me to be apart of.

Don’t you ever forget that YOU are beautiful and that Jesus loves YOU SO much!!

Thank you for reading my first blog post. There will be many more to come 🙂

Have a fabulous day!
