Mi Casa

This month I have had the incredible privledge to serve at an orphanage in San Salvador, El Salvador called Mi Casa. The orphanage is based out of two houses one for the boys and one for the girls and there are currently fifteen kids living between the two. These incredible kids have brought so much love and joy to my life and I have been so blessed to live life alongside them for this month. My team has gotten to live in community with them and we have truly become one family all together in the Lord. We have been blessed to be working with two incredible contacts named Bob and Maricela Mcdonell and he has allowed us to do so many activities with the children. This month we have been able to take the kids to the beach, have a fun day at the zoo, we have helped them learn how to bake and cook, we have painted a swingset with them for the front yard, had dance parties and times of singing and laughter, and many other opportunities.

Most of the children that are based in these homes have little or no family and all of them have been removed from the situations they were in by the Salvadorian government. Through this home they are getting the basic necessities that they need and most are being sponsored to attend school and get an education. Though their pasts have been hard they currently now live with outrageous joy and love from the Lord. It has been such an honor to spend this time with them and to remind them of their worth in the Lord because he has called them each by name.

He who created you, Oh Jacob, he who formed you, Oh Israel: Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. Isaiah 43:1

Tomorrow I will be heading out to Antigua, Guatemala to debrief the month and shortly after that to Thailand. What an incredible, awesome, infinate, powerful, outrageous God we serve! All the Glory goes to him! Thank you so much for your prayers and support they truly mean the world.
