This is my travel log from Month Six in Ukraine, through debrief in Budapest, Hungary, to Month Seven in Romania:
We left Lviv, Ukraine at 11pm on Saturday by bus, and drove overnight to Krakow, Poland. After arriving there at 8am, we had a couple of hours in the city, getting on our second bus around 11am. We then traveled by bus through Slovakia and into Budapest, Hungary for five days of debrief.
After debrief, we traveled as a squad to Romania. There were two groups in traveling the first leg of the trip from Budapest, because the number of discount tickets on each train was limited. My group left our hostel at 5am on Friday, and left the train station at 7am. We rode to 6 hours to Romania, then spent 7 hours there waiting for the next group of people. We then boarded another train at 10pm, rode overnight, and got to our ministry city at 6am on Saturday. The stop at Draganeshti (the city of our ministry) was… Interesting. We are lucky we had a conductor, because otherwise we would not all have gotten off the train in time. Normally the stop is about one minute long. Just enough for people to jump off, and jump on. They actually waited for all of us to get off, and then started moving immediately.
Except for the hot waiting room for the seven hours before the second team joined us, this was a fairly decent travel day. A great month is ahead!
