Last night, team Rafiki took part in something our ministry calls “Street Night”. It was probably one of the best experiences of my Race!

First, we had twenty-two women! That’s more than twice what the previous largest group was for this event. Every girl we invited over, minus about five, came with us! We had so many we needed to pray multiplication over the food because we originally did not have enough. And of course, God made it happen!

Second, one of the women who is part of the ministry now (and was a prostitute on the streets of Manzini in the past) went out with us because God prompted her. She is also the subject of one of my other blogs, “Code Red Prayer Moments”. For blog posts, I’m calling her “Beautiful”.
Anyway, Beautiful quickly became the one talking to the women, and inviting them to come to the house. The night actually became our team supporting her in helping her friends find some more of God’s love. She has recently been through some very hard situations, including having to give her baby away, and we did not think she would want to be a part of the night. She actually went to the assistant director of our ministry and asked both to drive around to pick girls up and also to share her story with them! God is good!!

Third, Kristen and I actually watched God use our words to move three cars and protect his daughters! As we were out inviting women back to the house, we had six of us in the car. Kristen and I were in the back seat, and our main goal was to pray as each situation showed its face. Twice when we stopped for Beautiful to talk with the prostitutes, cars pulled up behind with their hazard lights on, which is the Swazi indication of wanting to pick up a girl. For all three car, and a couple more that looked like they would stop, Kristen and I stated aloud, agreeing with each other, “in Jesus’ name, you will keep driving without any of these girls getting in the car with you.” Each time, even if we had to state it multiple times, the cars would inch forward, until they drove past us, and we would declare that they would not pick up anyone else that night. The name of Jesus is powerful, y’all!

Fourth, one of the main reasons these women were on the streets are no other means of income. One women shared that she had been applying for other jobs, but no one wanted to hire her because of her current occupation. The Hosea’s Heart women were able to share with the other women about the workshops that are held at the house, and invite them to take part. At least one of the women, possibly more, got Rachel’s contact information so she could come next week!

Those are the four major things God did that I can see now in my tired state, and I know that he did many more things throughout the night that we will not see until we spend some time sharing and reflecting with each other as the team.
