This idea of loving Son, and people, differently than others is an extremely important concept for the World Race. Everyone is different, but you are doing ministry with these people, all loving people and the Son differently.
Most people in the Church would say there are certain things you have to do to live boldly for Christ, or to be exactly the way Christ was. For instance, when I feel pressured to spend hours of time in prayer every day, but keep falling short and just deciding to stop, that is a Church standard that has come over the years. I’m not saying it’s a bad thing to pray for hours a day, in just saying it may not be what Father wants from me in this season of life.
The truth is Christ was many different ways in many different situations. I think the differences in the stories in the Gospels was, among other things, to show us that Christ wasn’t the same way twice. This means we can all have different ways of dealing with situations and life.
For those of you struggling with comparison, it’s okay to be very different than the person next to you. Some people are very bold and speak their minds in all situations. Some choose to use little words and live in a way that shows what they believe. Others speak some of the time and work some of the time. As long as you are seeking Father, he will show you the way he wants you to live.
You may think you are not as “good” as the person next to you, but that isn’t the truth. The truth is Father loves you right where you are, and will guide you to where he has for you tomorrow, and the day after that, and after that…
On the flip side (and the one I struggle with more), it’s okay that the person next to you is not like you. You cannot impose your standard of “good” on them, because everyone is different. No one will ever be exactly like you. Therefore they will not love Father, Son, and HS the way you do.
Now I’m not saying if they are in sin, you shouldn’t bring that to their attention. By all means, please love people enough to not want them to be in sin. However, truly look ask Father is they are in sin, or if you just don’t like the way they are loving him. Only he will be able to guide you in that decision.
Everyone loves the Son differently. I will never be exactly like the people around me, and they will never be like me. Ever.
