One week ago I came back from training camp in Copperhill, TN and now I'm itching to get onto the field. I didn't know what to expect from training camp, but it was nothing I could have imagined. A friend asked me to describe the training week in one word. My reply: indescribable. I'll try my best to recap the week for you, without leaking any World Race secrets of course.

First off, the time at training camp was funny. After just the first two days, I felt like I had already been there a week. I felt like I had been friends for years with people I had just met. But then the end of the week snuck up and I couldn't believe that it was over already. Camp really pushed me. In many different ways. Most significantly, it stretched my faith. I cried for the first three days (and then a few times after that), but they were good, healing cries. Wounds that had left scars I wasn't even aware of were re-opened and God worked to heal them like only He can do. My idea of who God is was stretched. God is still way bigger than I can comprehend, but He showed more of Himself to me at camp. On top of the spiritual growth, I tried some interesting new foods, began forming deep friendships, and got even more pumped about sharing Christ's love with the nations. Ahhh even just writing about it gets me anxious to head out. 4 weeks to go!

At camp, teams were formed as well. I honestly could not have asked for a better team. I love each and every person I'll be spending this next year with. These six people will be my family for the next year and I already think of them as my brothers and sisters. I'll try to get some pictures up in another post and introduce them all to you 😉

In summary, it was a long, crazy, challenging, and fantastic week. And if that's just one week in Tennessee on the Race…man, I can't wait to see what one year across the globe is going to look like!
