Nepal is our fourth stop on the Race. A few weeks ago I went to a Nepali restaurant with my dear friend, Corinne (I love State Street in Madison, you can find just about anything there!). The food was delicious, the decorations were beautiful, and our waitress was so sweet. I'm pumped to go to Nepal! Please join me in praying for this country.

A bit of history:

Nepal is a country that has been a monarchy for most of its history.  In 2006, after a 10 year long civil war and mass protests by all political parties, peace negotiations were made.  A vote was made in favor of creating a democratic republic and the monarchy was abolished. The first president was sworn in on July 23 2008.

Answers to prayer:

The political change that has happened in the last several years with Nepal becoming a democratic republic.  This paves the way for Christian ministry in the country.

Need for Prayer:

-The stability of the government.  With just having become a democratic republic there is much to be done to establish stability  in the country.

-The Maoist rebels, considered a terrorist organization, still have some power in the country that is going to corrupt the country if they continue to hold that power.

-Wisdom and courage of the leaders of the country as they work through the major political disagreements that are happening and the economic problems in the country.
