Okay, get ready. This is a long blog…
When you say "yes" to the World Race, and God says "yes" to your yes, Satan puts up a fight. A lot. Why? Because he's a scared lil bugger who will do anything to turn you away from agreeing with God's amazing and wild plan for your life. I can definitely say that these past few weeks, since I was accepted, have been crap. I've been through enough emotional and spiritual rollercoasters to last me a lifetime. BUT God's good, I wouldn't be able to get through the day without Him ๐
On Sunday night, I went to my young adults with my awesome-tastic friend, Allison (http://allisonprysiazny.theworldrace.org). It was good times, plus free food is always a bonus! Afterwards, we were talking with a couple girls, Mariah and Rebekah. They told us about their roommate. Ever since said roommate moved in, there has been demonic activity in the house. Mariah saw an apparition of a little girl crying out, "Mariah, help me!" in her bathroom. The roommate isn't a christian, and has had a demon follow her since she was about twelve. They wanted us to come pray with them at the house and see if we could do something about the whole situation.
So, we all piled into Allison's beast of a car (yay Lloyd!) and drove to their house. Before we got there, we prayed over each other (this was the first time doing this for all four of us), and had other people praying for us too (my parents/some friends, Allison's squad (which consists 70 people), and some of the girls' friends). So we had A LOT of back up! We started in the basement, Mariah's brother joined us too. It was rad. We put on some worship music (the new Jesus Culture cd. You should defs check it out!), and just felt like God wanted us to worship. So we did. Straight away, we felt resistance. Mariah felt something in front of her, so Allison prayed over her for a good 10 minutes. God was defs in the room with us, because said presence went away real quick.
We ended up worshipping for over 3 hours straight while kicking demon butt whenever we felt resistance (by praying and speaking against them). We spoke so much of God's glory, truth and life into the family and house. It was crazy awesome! AND God was totally working in Rebekah's life. During worship, I heard her yell out, "JESUS!" and "FREEDOM!" It gave me goosebumps ๐ Yay God! I remember opening my eyes and seeing Deven (Mariah's brother) and Rebekah lifting their hands in worship. It was beautiful! I LOVE the sight of people in abandoned worship. I think it's the most beautiful sight God created. After worship, we went around the house and prayed over every corner, doorknob, window, wall, pretty much everywhere in the house, covering it in the blood of Jesus and once again, kicking demon butt. There was a lot of darkness in their roommates room, the girls' room and the bathroom where Mariah saw the apparition. But Jesus is awesome, and God always wins. When we left the house, God told me, "This is just the beginning!" I'm so excited to see what crazy things God decides to do in my life next!
The next day, Rebekah texted Allison and told her she felt lighter, and so did the house. Yay Jesus!
Aaaannnndddd…..
Lately, Satan's been whispering a lot of lies in my ears. And I've believed them. He had me going back to my people hating, self loathing, negative thoughts, self. I was even questioning God on a lot of things. And at the same time, I was fighting God, I just didn't know it.
Yesterday, I finally gave up. I told God I was completely exhausted and I broke down weeping. Not crying, weeping. I literally used up at least 20 tissues. Not kidding. I felt like I wasn't worth His love. But Allison held onto me while I cried. She's such a woman of God! I'm so stoked to see what God does through her on her journey. While I was crying like a baby, God spoke through her, as He likes to do a lot ๐ It took some time, but God healed my heart. He's never left me, even through my stubborness and blindness.
Lesson Learned # 4: God ALWAYS wins!
