Here’s the Saturday night update! So we get to the basketball court to find out that somehow Pastor Antonio rounded up 2 sets of huge speakers that would clearly project our outreach throughout San Pablo. There was a keyboard and even a percussion section that consisted of all the young boys from the church playing tamborines, drums, and moroccas.
The church members slowly started showing up and filling the plastic chairs the church had borrowed for the event. We also got a big gathering of children that wanted to play and laugh with us. The best part was the crowd way in the back that weren’t church members. This grew as the night went on as well.
The service went amazing. Ashley shared the gospel through the Iodine/Bleach experiment again. The drama went flawless, even though we were working on a lot shorter stage than our practice area. No one fell of the edge, which we consider a major success! Afterwards I shared my testimony and thanks for all the prayers because once I got going I wasn’t even nervous!
We could totally feel God working that night. We know seeds were planted! One girl came up to us later while we were waiting on the bus and asked if we were going to do anything the next night. The pastor let her know that we would be doing the drama again the next night at the church.
Last night at church we did do the drama again, which was most of the crowds second time to see it, but they still enjoyed it just as much. We even had a crowd of people stop by outside the door to watch. Gary preached a powerful message on Ephesians 5 directed towards the men of the church and how they should love their wives like Christ loved the church. At the end of the service we were blessed to welcom 2 new members!
Ministry time is running out in Guatemala. Only about 3 more full days. We are hoping to get in another basketball game with the youth, maybe another visit to the women and children, more family visits, and possibly a visit in one of the schools, oh and of course another radio program on Wednesday. Pray that God work through us these last few days!
