We are in Hong Kong!  I can’t believe I am here.  These past few days we spent in Los Angeles training for China, debreifing, praying, searching for
stars coming out of the Oscars, and taking pictures on the Hollywood walk of fame.  Then Wednesday at 11:25am we got on our direct flight from L.A. to Hong Kong!

The 15 hour 20 minute flight seemed to go by relatively quickly due to the fact that we had individual tv screens on the backs of the seats.  I watched about 3 movies and played a trivia challenge game against some of my fellow world racers.  During the flight the sun was out the whole time since we were flying west.  We also leaped into the future as we passed the international date line and touched down in Hong Kong about 6:45pm on Thursday.

We then got through customs smoothly.  It is definitely harder to get into The Price is Right than Hong Kong.  We found a bus to take us to the recommended place to stay and the driver helped us get off at the right stop.  We wandered into the Chang King Mansions, which is really a tall skyscraper with lots of little vendors on the bottom and hostels or guest h
ouses on the upper floors.

It took a little while to figure out the right place to go and right floor to get off at, but luckily we found the recommended hostel.  It isn’t luxury and we didn’t have private rooms last night because we got in so late, but the owner is working on hooking us up for tonight.

This morning we got up to get our China visas.  Tomorrow we are doing the race part as we try to find places all over Hong Kong!  Then Sunday night we get on a 36 hr train to our ministry site.  We met our missionary contact, Eugene, this morning who will take us on this train and then later into Tibet!  Pray for the hearts of the Chinese and boldness to share the gospel!
