Better late than never????

Lodging: Our team is staying in one of the Lighthouse In Action staff houses with two of the girls on staff here. We have bunk beds and hot showers so I am basically staying at the Ritz Carlton…

(Bunk beds in back and me in my sweet new Thai pants- apparently some Asian clothes do fit me…)

Ministry: Various. We are working with an AMAZING ministry called Lighthouse in Action (check them out at www.lightthethai.com- they need your support too!!) We have 5 teams working with this organization doing at least one day of each of the ministry sides with one ministry in greater focus. There is coffee shop/university ministry, bar ministry, slum ministry, and village ministry. This month for me has focused on the kids in the slums- teaching english and bible stories- as well as interceding for the teams going out into the bars at night. I have learned lots about intercession and found so much joyin that this month!

Food: You can't throw a dead cat without hitting a food vendor of some sort so we are quite spoiled when it comes to food this month. And it is so cheap! I have THE best coffee, pad thai, fried rice, rotees, and much more! Plus they have some of my American favorites like Starbucks and the desert section of Diary Queen. Oh yeah. That happened.

People: They speak Thai. They are Buddhist. Almost all of them. They smile all the time. It is very much a culture of honor and respect. Even the kids- goofy and crazy like normal kids- stop and show great respect for adults. I love these people and this culture so much! I was made for Asia…at least on the inside, with their order and structure and calm joy. The outside of me doesn't quite fit. I literally got stuck twice trying to try on clothes here and have hit my head multiple times going down stairs or in through doorways. But I don't care, my love for this place and these people is far greater than those things!

Prayer Requests

-God has been teaching me more about my identity and inviting me to break free from boxes I have put myself in. Continue praying that I push into who I have been made to be.

-Our teams are changing at the end of this month so pray that we all transition well, that I learn to love my new team, and that I don't compare my new team to my last one- because I loved them soo sooo soooo much!!!

-That I am even more open to the love God has for me.

-That I press into and continue to develop the gifts God has given me.

-Anything that the spirit leads you to pray! I love being covered in prayer by y'all back home so THANK YOU!
