So here we are at the end of our time in Africa. It has been a good three months, that’s for sure. I’ve learned so much, I’ve danced like crazy, I’ve seen things I’ve never seen (some things I wish I hadn’t seen), and I even got baptized. Africa has definitely changed my life for the better. I think it’s safe to say that here in Africa is where I’ve really come to know God for who He is and in a much more personal way than I’ve ever known. I’m sad to be leaving this beautiful continent that I now hold so dear to my heart but I can say that I am very excited for a change.

So I thought to myself, “What would be the best way to wrap up my time here in Africa?” Why, with a summarized list of numbers, or course:

Number of days in Africa: 87
Number of countries visited: 4
Number of languages I tried to learn: 3

Number of church services attended: 33
Number of times I had to preach: 8
Number of African proposals: 4 (I wish I had that much game in America)
Number of times I fell on my butt in front of everyone: 3
Number of times a child peed on me: 2
Number of hours spent on a bus/taxi/van: 109 (or 4.5 days)
Number of malaria pills taken: 87
Number of showers taken: not enough.
Number of motorcycle-taxi rides: 23

Number of families who served us a free meal: 13
Number of dance parties: enough to work off those 7 pounds
Number of times we sang “Trading my sorrows”:well, I can promise you I will never sing it again.
