She was loud. She wore her heart on her sleeve.  She was never content.  She always desired change in her life.  She got her feelings hurt easily.  She loved people with all she had to give.  All she wanted in life was to be married be a wife and a mom.  She loved adventure. … She always had a plan in mind. She wanted to see the world.

She was alone.

In her mind, she wanted a simple life.  But in reality she ran from it.  She had a picture in her head of how life was “suppose” to be.

She hated everything to do with community, she was tired of the routine. She just wanted some time alone, or some realness to her day.

She was selfish

She wasn’t willing to let God lead the steps.

She wanted all the control

She was happy, but joy didn’t elude her

As She stood in that cold shower and cried out to her Father

She began to understand.

He doesn’t always give you what you want in life, but through the lessons, he gives you what you need.

Days and Hours she spent wrestling with God. She didn’t sleep for days.  She was unsettled.

If any there were a clearer picture it was of this:

Peace is NOT the absence of trouble    It’s the Presence of God.

Why did she think the road would be easy?

Maybe if she stopped asking God to remove the struggles, the sufferings, the pain and the hurt, But rather ask Him to show her what He is trying to teach her in the midst of the suffering … Maybe the reason He isn’t taking it out of her life because she hasn’t let him teach her what he’s trying to teach in the midst of it.

Look at the disciples… in prison, alone… but joyous.

Look at Joseph sold by his brothers, put in prison for a crime he didn’t commit.  He remained joyful. He could have chose to have a pity party. But he didn’t.

God gets us through stuff.  Through the Red Sea onto dry ground (Ex 14:22) Through the wilderness (Deut 29:5) Through the valley of the shadow of death (Ps 23:4)

When You pass through the waters, I will be with you.

And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you.

When you wlak through the fire, you shall not be burned,

Nor shall the flame scorch you. (Isaiah 43:2)

I don’t know what you have going on in your life.  And Im not saying whatever it is wont be painless. It may not even be quick, Sometimes God takes his time. One hundred twenty years to prepare Noah for the flood, eighty years to prepare Moses for his work.  Paul an apostle and then isolated him in Arabia for years.  Joseph was 17 when his brothers abandoned him. He was at least thirty-seven when he saw them again. …

Trust God. That’s all you have to do.

I wrote this blog while I was in Laos.  I’ve wrote a lot of blogs, but most of them I never post. God had this blog on my heart to post… I just had the most amazing month in Cambodia and it is amazing to me the freedom that God will walk you through if you never stop trusting in Him.  I believe he wants me to post this for someone, so today, I hope that you are encouraged. Be Blessed. 🙂
