I choose TEMPLE.
THIS BODY IS NOT MINE, IT WAS BOUGHT AT A PRICE, DEATH. SO QUIT WITH YOUR SELFISH WAYS, THIS AIN'T YOURS TO DO WHAT YOU WANT WITH IT.
This month I'm working out and eating as healthy as possible.
But not because I want a thinner shape, or stronger abs, or to fit better in my clothes or so I get more attention from men, or so I can be healthier or any of the million reasons most of us work out.
It's for God this time.
Why?
Because I love him and i am his and he is mine.
This Body is Gods temple, and he's very clear with WHAT WILL HAPPEN if we do not take care of HIS temple.
"Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in you? If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him. For God's temple is holy, and you are that temple." 1 Corinthians 3: 16 & 17
So if we don't take care of his temple and keep it HOLY what happens? YOU WILL BE DESTROYED BY GOD.
That should be enough to whip you into shape and give you the most motivation that you could ever need to keep this body working as best a possible, right?
No? you need more?
So Gods temple used to be actual buildings but now days he says WE are his temple.
Lets take a look at a temple that was built for God in the old testament.
In 1 Kings Solomon built God a temple. He used the finest wood, cedar and cypress and carved all of it into magnificent pictures of angels and things. Inside he practically covered everything inside the temple in solid GOLD. Everything that was used to make this temple was only the absolute BEST.
GOD DESERVES THE BEST MOST BEAUTIFUL TEMPLE, and its our job to make sure that happens.
How?
HAVE A FILTER. Only put in your mouth, watch with your eyes and listen with your ears and what is most clean, pure (wholesome or untainted by immortality) healthy and holy.
Remember this isn't about you at all, what have I done? Made a way to heaven for the sinners of this world? No. Its all about Him and his holiness and what he has called us, his temple.
This doesn't mean I don't screw up all the time…
BUT the thing that keeps me most motivated is that I know my God is behind me in this, he's going to give me strength to say yes to a morning run and no to piece of chocolate cake. He loves a heart that desires to glorify his name in everything.
What's cool? He always picks us up when we fall and he's even more excited then you could ever be to try it again!
"Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain." 1 Corinthians 15:58
