Dear
Everyone

,

Hello! Hola! Jambo! Ni hao!   I am excited to tell you about a ministry opportunity I am participating in this upcoming year.   Many of you know I have always been a little crazy.
Well I am still crazy, but now I am crazy for Jesus.
Since college I have been searching for my place in life and though it took me awhile to hear Him clearly God finally got through to me, and I have decided to go all out for Jesus!
Recently He led me to apply for a mission trip called
The
World Race.

The World Race?
  What’s that?
I am so very glad you asked.

11 Countries in 11 Months!!

The World Race is for people 20 to 30 years old who take a
year of their life and live like Jesus lived while traveling around the world.   Along the way, we expect to experience God in a new way while ministering to the poor, loving the unloved, and touching the untouched.  Simplicity and servanthood are at the heart of The World Race.   When we travel, we will need to make the most of our resources.  In many places, we will stay in tents or wherever people invite us to stay, just as Jesus instructed His disciples to do.   As we go, we will join local partners, serving them in their ministry.  We will work in orphanages, respond to natural disasters, and plant local fellowships that reach out in love to the community.  World Race teams are relevant because they work through pre-existing relationships. We will partner with them to establish long-term Kingdom works that will last long after we leave.

My greatest desire is to learn to trust God with my whole life and to hear Him speak clearly to me.   God has given me a passion and heart for the lost and hurting souls around the world as well as a love for those desiring to grow in Christ, including the poorest of the poor.   I’ve always had a desire to travel and meet people where they are.   During this World Race, I will be discipled and trained in various areas of ministry and missions.   I will have the opportunity to minister to people who need to hear of salvation through Jesus.

The World Race is a radical calling from a radical leader: Jesus. Many of you share my faith and the mission of Christians everywhere to take the love of Jesus to the globe. I would be honored if you could partner with me prayerfully.   Prayer is our most powerful gift and this ministry is nothing without your prayers!   I am specifically asking for fifteen people who will commit to pray for me each day until I return.

Some of you may not share my beliefs in Christ, but do believe in making a difference in the world. Please consider using the World Race as your platform to reach the untouched. I welcome your encouragement and support.

A number of you may be in a position to contribute to my support financially.   I need to raise $16,000 for this trip.   I calculated that if 53 people give $25 a month for 12 months or a one time amount of $300, I would reach my goal!   $5, $20, $50, $500, $1000- no matter the amount, God can and will use what you are willing and able to give!   Please pray about supporting me in this way.

Many of you have large spheres of influence; please pass this letter on to your friends, your family, your church, and your colleagues so that they may also be blessed with the opportunity to join the race!

I have enclosed a response card and pre-addressed envelope, which invites you to share in this ministry.   Please make checks payable to
Adventures In Missions.   You may write “appealed
by Sarah Lapp” in the memo section of the check if you wish.  Including the enclosed card will provide AIM with all necessary information.  In turn, they will send you a receipt.

I am excited to see how God will use me and what He will teach me through this experience.  I hope not only to be a blessing to those I serve, but also to you.   My desire is to go as your representative of Jesus Christ. I hope you will prayerfully consider being a part of my ministry.   Thank you so much for your support!

For His Glory,

Sarah
