Debrief in Cambodia was amazing! We spend so much time as a team during our ministry, that it’s really comforting and relaxing to spend time with our entire squad. We worshiped together and had some good quality time.
We then traveled to Vietnam. It was pretty intense. Five minutes after entering Vietnam our bus hit a guy on a Moped. He was fine luckily, then we went to our hotel, which was awesome. Cathy and I were on the seventh floor and had an amazing view of the city that was pretty ridiculous; the pictures really don’t do it justice.
We went and had some Vietnamese food, but weren’t able to see too much since we were only there overnight to catch our flight.
We then began our ministry here in Australia immediately and it has been amazing! Like absolutely amazing! We are working with a ministry called Long Grass Mansion, whose main focus is doing feeding ministry for the poor and working with the Aboriginal people as well as drug addicts and alcoholics. They come to the church and we make lunch, talk to them and send then them home with what is left over and on Sundays we worship with them and Tuesdays we do Bible study. The family we work with is absolutely amazing and are constantly pouring into us and building us up. They are so in tune with the Holy Ghost it’s incredible! They have been an absolute blessing and they have made going from Cambodia to Australia an amazingly fluid transition.
We are staying at YWAM Darwin and we also partner up with some of the staff here for their other ministries. Hannah and I are helping to teach English to newcomers to Australia which has been a great! The students are older, but they are so nice and just want friendship. This has been such a powerful and motivating first week of ministry and I can’t wait for all the things we will do this month!
