We were on an overnight train from Gau Musang, Malaysia to Udan Thani, Thailand when I looked over and saw the cutest little old man and his wife. He looked just like my grandfather Poppi Bo but the Asian version. I thought to myself “ohhh my gosh, I just want to hug him and talk to him!” I didn’t know how to go about striking up a conversation. I didn’t even know if they spoke English. I can’t remember how our talk started but it turned out that the man, his wife, AND his son, who were traveling with him, just so happened to all speak English. They were so sweet. We talked about life, what they did, where they were from, if they were Christians (they are). We talked about what I was doing and the best places to eat in Udan. They were so warm and inviting, it felt like I was talking to my family. One thing lead to another and they found out I love passion fruit (I fell in love with it in South America and now I’m obsessed). Any way, the wife reached into her bag and pulled out a passion fruit that they had grown in their backyard. I know it sounds funny but that kind gesture and thoughtfulness made my whole day. Where ever y’all are, I can not thank you enough for your kind smiles, words, passion fruit and a little piece of home when I’m thousands of miles away.

We all feel homesick at some point in our life. Especially when traveling for extended periods of time…say…eleven months lol. It’s funny what can trigger homesickness: a random stranger, a warm smile, kids playing in the street, a worship service…the possibilities are endless. I was praying about being homesick after seeing the cute little old man and his family. All I wanted to do was see my family and friends and hug them. As I was praying God gently told me that He wants the same. He just wants to see us all home (heaven) and to hug us. Talk about a wake up call and what a beautiful picture He painted for me. Life is so short. We are just vapors in the grand scheme of things. I shouldn’t be homesick for my earthly life, which could be gone in mere seconds. I should be homesick and longing for my heavenly home where I get to see God face to face! How awesome will that be!?!?

Revelations 22:12
And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with me, to give to everyone according to his work.”
Revelations 22:13
“I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Begging and the End, the First and the Last.”

Ps. I’m still about $2,500.00 short of my deadline. Please help pass on the word. Thank y’all for all the support and prayers. I pray for y’all too!
Much love and God bless 🙂
