Wow! I can’t believe how time is flying by. Before I know it, I will be off to travel the world. Ahhhh I am sooooooo excited!!! It is time to buckle down and get to fundraising. I do need some help though. Prayers and donations are greatly appreciated!
My fundraising letter:
Dear friends and family,
I am so excited to have the opportunity to travel with The World Race for eleven months. The Race is a Christian missions organization that is sending me and 40 other young adults to eleven countries to spread the Word. We will share the good news through helping people in need, working in orphanages, assisting at schools and building and improving communities.
I feel truly blessed and honored that I was chosen for The World Race. For several years now, I have felt a desire to serve the Lord in a way that would push me deeper into my faith and challenge me to put into action what I know is a calling from God. This is a path that has been laid for me. I can’t wait to see what God has in store as I begin my amazing journey. In July I will leave for the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Honduras, Guatemala, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Philippines, Thailand, Burma and Cambodia. I will spend a month in each location.
As I prepare for this trip, it is part of my responsibility to raise the money that I will need for support throughout my eleven months. The cost for this is $15,500.00. I know this seems like a daunting task. And at times, I feel that way too. This is why I am asking you to support me in this discipleship through prayer and love.
I have now come to the time when I must solicit family and friends for financial support. I have several incremental deadlines for meeting my monetary obligations. My first deadline is May 2, 2014. I must have $3,500.00 in my fund by this date to be able to go on this trip. There are several ways to donate. You may go online or send donations directly to the headquarters in Georgia. I have enclosed a form with all of the information you need to ask questions about the organization, make a donation to support my work or to offer prayers. Because I have other deadlines to meet, a monthly donation is a generous way to help me achieve these goals as well. Please pray fully consider supporting me as I take this leap of faith in following God’s plan for me.
