My team’s name is Veracity,
which means “devotion to truth”.
So I’m going to start off with a little morsel of truth.
I almost never want to blog.
At training camp, someone said “Those times you don’t want to blog are the times you probably should.” What? Does this mean that you are going to be receiving a constant, steady stream of Serah thoughts for the next year? Not necessarily.
You will be hearing from me via blog when I have something to say that I want broadcasted over the internet.
Don't worry, I will still be blogging on my adventure. I wouldn't want to leave you all in the dark! But honestly, I’d much rather sit down with YOU. Well, we don’t even have to sit. Let’s go skiing. Go for a bike ride. Paint a picture. I want to talk to you about you and me and what we’ve learned so far in our lives.
I guess what I’m trying to say is that I tend to be private with my personal life. It doesn’t mean that I’m ashamed or shy or even unwilling to talk about my innermost feelings and personal experiences with other people. I just simply would rather have a conversation. I understand why we blog and why it is important. However, I expect the World Race to be a huge transformative event in my life. And anyone who has been through such events will probably say that vast sections of the road traveled are not pretty. I’d prefer to keep these intimate experiences intimate.
Granted, I am currently in that fog that is the time between training camp and Launch. Who knows, maybe my mind will change at Launch. Or month 2. Or 5. Or 11. But it’s how I feel now. I’ll let everyone in on the stuff I do next year. Whether it’s on this blog, or on your couch in your living room, or in a personal e-mail, or on top of a mountain, I promise I’ll tell you anything you want to know.
