Hello friends! just thought i would give a quick shout out from our 6th country- TANZANIA!
We’re living in a city near the western border of the country called “Sumbawanga” which means something like house of witches. Great. It’s a lot less developed here- dirt roads, chickens, cows, people with no shoes (actually it’s a lot like Oklahoma lol just kidding). Anyways we are living in this house with our pastor and around 15 other people that i cant quite name because they dont speak English and i dont know who they are. Chickens are a common place in the house, as well as bucket showers and a squatty potty! But praise the Lord i have my own bed this month! i dont think ive ever been so happy to see a 3 in thick piece of foam.
I think that God is using this time to teach me about patience and abandonment. Not only did I lose my adapter, my computer charger stopped working all together. Goodbye tv shows, regular internet, and blogging. (ill try to keep you updated as much as possible otherwise) Anyways we’re finally being ushered into “africa time” which means when something starts at 2 its not 1:55 like american time, but 2ish or 3ish. It seems a lot harder to communicate with people here too. So i’m praying that God gives me a fresh dose of patience, and maybe a new computer charger 🙂
We start official ministry tomorrow, so i hope to have some cool stories to tell you guys soon! Oh ya and remind me when i leave Africa to tell you the story about running from the police…
well goodbye for now friends!
