Thought i’d let you all see what it looks like here:

I havent had much luck with the internet so i stole these pics from Rachelle 🙂 same town though!

More pictures soon to come!!!

So we’ve entered into our last month here in Africa, and i’m not working in an orphanage (which is why i wanted to go to Africa in the first place) but alas, i have come to terms with it. I’ve prayed a lot of  “really God?” prayers, and had a lot of “will you do what i say and serve me no matter what?” answers. So now here i am, trying to be a servant. and once i came to terms with it, it’s sort of fun!

So what i’ve been doing instead-
We are working in a small town here in Sumbawanga, Tanzania with a local church. The pastor wants to become an international church, so he has asked us to teach his family and the locals English. We started the first few days working with his wife and children- which was challenging and interesting. They spoke very little English and communication was strained at best. They have learned really fast though.

This past week Heather and I got an English class all our own! We’re working with 60 or so 5year olds! We are having to start from scratch- letters, numbers, sounds. We taught them some basic phrases last week. I know that we arent out saving the world, so to speak, but this is what i’ve been asked to do, and im doing it with joy. I believe that this is something that will serve them long after we leave. The kids are SO cute too! When we’re out walking kids run up to us saying “Teacher, Teacher!!!” It’s cute.

Anywho next week we start building on the preachers house! (hope im as good at building houses as my dad!)

Also our final funds deadline is coming up on Dec 15th and i have around 2000 to go!

Love you guys
