Our little bedroom has been crammed full of sick people this week as 8 of us have Malaria and one of my teammates has been diagnosed with Typhoid. It has been a tough week and I am not going to lie, there have been a lot of tears and homesickness in the midst of it. Malaria isn’t as quite as bad as I expected although it is far from fun. It mainly consists of exhaustion, dizziness, and headaches. I have been lying in bed besides Monica for days staying entertained through watching movies via a shared set of earphones while wrapped up in our mosquito net.

Kristin and Katherine discovered the perfect cure to make us feel better ….

They made us no bake cookies with ooey, gooey chocolate which believe me, is impossible to come by in Africa. They were delicious and I must admit we made them again today for the third time this week.

I love the little things in life which make such a big difference. And better yet, I love the little taste of home those cookies provided!

“From the fullness of His grace we have all received one blessing after another.” (in the form of cookies!) -John 1:16

P.S.  These are the vials they used at the Doctor’s Office.  It’s a far cry from home!
