We are now in Auckland, New Zeeland! My team of 6 arrived late yesterday afternoon to begin our very first ministry. We will be working the next 18 days with YWAM (Youth’s With A Mission) and Kings Kids to reach out and minister to inner-city kids ranging from toddlers to young adults. We are not exactly sure what that is going to look like yet but will find out tomorrow morning when we begin our first day of work. We are staying in what has been described as the worst neighborhood in Auckland. I was very surprised to hear that as it seems to be peaceful and quiet here so far. Looks can be deceiving I guess. Apparently, the neighborhood is filled with kids who are involved in gangs and I am hoping to get a chance to minister them while we are here. We are staying on the campus of YWAM so there is no need to be concerned for my safety. We are blessed beyond measure to have been provided with a cute little apartment with a kitchen, hot showers, and internet. This absolutely will not be the case most months so we are enjoying it while we have it. We have a budget of $10.00 a meal which must feed all 6 of us. It was fun last night going to the grocery store and attempt to figure out what we could afford to eat on such a tight budget. We enjoyed a delicious meal of spaghetti and vegetables. We also discovered that the store around the corner sells ice-cream cones for only $1.00. Being the all girls team, this definitely made us quite happy.

This morning there was a gigantic spider in my shower and I would like to offer a special thanks to my teammate, Lyndsie, who jumped in the shower with me in order to kill it. Aaah, the adventures of a World Race team.

I am going to keep this short and sweet as I have been blogging a lot lately in an attempt to get caught up after not having internet. I don’t want to overwhelm your inbox with all my blogs.

Hope each of you are growing daily in your walk with Christ and daily finding freedom as you fall deeper in love with Him.

Love ya’ll
