In my opinion, there’s a lot of mystery surrounding training camp. Naturally, I expect the typical things, like team building and learning some logistical, cultural, and travel information. It might be so mysterious because I haven’t effectively scoured others’ blogs to find out what it’s really all about, but I sense that there is an emphasis on the unknown, an unknown that is likely reflective of what my entire World Race life will be like. I expect it to be a series of reoccurring awkward introductions, learning to truly enjoy sleeping wherever possible, and welcoming random and/or ridiculous tasks and situations. Perhaps there will be some Kumbaya kind of stuff. At best, this is still all speculation.
Regardless of what it’s really all about, my bag is packed and ready to go. I am quite impressed that I still have a lot of room, which gives me hope for September when I will have to decide on necessities. In addition, a generous friend has let me borrow her tent so I will no longer be “homeless” at training camp or forced to potentially take the brunt of southern storms while sleeping exposed in a hammock. God has already begun to provide the simple things I need from having shelter for training and having gear (tent, sleeping pad, adaptors, malaria drugs, etc.) lent out to me for from my current WR friends for the upcoming 11 months.

(the ever faithful Hoobaja shall provide a soft place for my head to rest)
So I'm off to training tomorrow Saturday July 2nd through Sunday July 10th. It would be awesome if you could pray for both me and my squad (A-Squad!) for our unity and spiritual & practical preparation for all the unknowns God has for us in the year to come!
(P.S. $183 left to reach $3000! Awesome.)
