We are going to stay in the dominican republic for the month. 4 teams are going to Haiti, and 7 are staying here. Next month I will head to Haiti. I have found out that they really love music from the 90’s here. Also, Michael Jackson literally is the king of pop, globally. This week was supposed to be a chill week, seeing as the next 11 months will be packed with mission work… However, a few of us decided to explore the town of santo domingo and seek some missions anyway. We met some kids, who we played “stick ball” with. Stick ball is basically baseball, dominican republic style. They use a stick, and a bottle cap. I also made friends with some little girls, and painted their nails. It was the cutest thing ever!

Cold showers have never felt so heavenly. Also, we only have a limited supply of water, so sometimes we have to take bucket showers… meaning we fill a bucket with water, and use it sparingly to wash. Its surprising how clean you can get by using such little water. 30 minute showers at home were definitely unnecessary.
OH- and for all of you fathers/people who are obsessed with how perfect your lawns look: People here cut their entire lawn with a machetti knife. Put that on your plate and eat it 😉
God is good.
