Here in Uyuni we have been working with a church. We have come along Pastor Rolando and helped with many of the ministries the church offers. Most days of the week there is at least one service, sometimes 2. Mondays anand Fridays have been our only days without ministry. Every other day there has been ministry opportunities. Below is an outline of what our week would look like with ministry. Sunday: We helped with the children and led the youth during the morning service. We got to participate in the evening service. Monday: No ministry opportunities. We used this time for personal worship and to prepare for ministry for the week. Wednesday: Early afternoons were spent doing hospital ministry. We would have English class mid afternoon the first 2 weeks and then home visits the last week. In the evenings there are Bible studies held at 2 different homes in the city. Our teams were responsible for these from the music to the message. Thursday: Our afternoons looked much like Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons. After English class finished we would head to the center of town to do street evangelism. This looked different from week to week. After this we would quickly grab dinner before heading to the church for their weekly Bible Study and Prayer service. Most Thursdays we were not responsible for anything this night, except this final Thursday where out of the blue Pastor asked one of us to preach. So in a matter of about 30 seconds I created a sermon. Only by the grace of God did that happen. Fridays: We had no specific ministries so we used this time to rest and recharge. We would also use this time to prepare for ministry on Saturday. Saturdays: Our afternoons were spent at the two homes used earlier in the week doing Children’s ministry. This usually included music, a Bible story that we would have the kids act out, and a game or two. Saturday evenings were spent at the church doing youth ministry. Other ministries we had the opportunities we had during the month: And that has been ministry this month here in Uyuni, Bolivia. |
