1. On the island of Phuket people yell “massage” and “tuk-tuk” at you constantly when you’re outside (As in do you want a massage or can I give you a ride in my taxi?).
2. It’s become a habit to take your shoes off before entering any building.
3. As you walk along the road people are constantly saying things to you like, “Good day Mate” and “How can I love you?”. (They seem to think we’re Aussies).
4. If you stop or slow down at any of the above comments you are immediately grabbed and flung to the nearest shopping opportunity.
5. It’s normal to see both dogs and babies balancing on motorcycles with the driver.
6. Dogs are everywhere.
7. You and your team are the only ones wearing Easter egg color ponchos when it downpours and people are staring.
8. You have rice at every meal.
9. In public restrooms you learn to look for the toilet paper hanging by the counter before going into the stall.
10. At any given time there is at least one goat standing on the table outside the window of your new “home“.
