I have just spent the past 3 weeks in harvest field Uganda! It truly is the power of Africa!
Everyday we spent evangelizing and preaching the gospel from village to village and home to home. Many of the people are
very hungry for God and they are waiting for people to come and tell them the Good News of Jesus Christ. We were able to plant
3 new churches and we led 473 people to the Lord….Praise God!
In the churches we were able to hold seminars for many of the village people. Most of the churches were made of mud with
thatch roofs. Chad and Casey spoke with the adults, Cathy worked with the children and I taught the teens and singles. My main
goal was to educate them on the different types of abuse, sex, HIV/AIDS and keeping their bodies as the temple of the Holy Spirit.
Most of these teens had no idea how the HIV/AIDS virus is contracted or how to protect themselves. They have heard so many
myths or partial truths that they were confused. I was very pleased that I could come in and tell the truth and speak openly
with them. They had many questions…deep questions.
Yesterday the 4 of us were able to hold a Pastor’s Conference. This may seem funny that not one of us is Pastor, but we were able
to speak honesty with the Pastors about things we observed. Cathy spoke about the importance of prayer, Chad spoke about
follow-up with the new believers, Casey spoke about spiritual warfare and I spoke about counseling and approach to church
members being abused at home (physical, verbally, and sexually). God truly blessed our time and gave us the words to speak to
the Pastors.
I am sad to leave Uganda because it has become my home for the past 3 weeks. I do pray that God will call me back to Uganda
someday because a part of my heart will be left here!
