I am in the process of reading an eye opening book entitled “The Natashas”. A few of my blogs in the past I wrote about the heart God has given me for the girls trapped in the sex trade industry around the world.

The book explains how the third most profitable commodity after illegal weapons and drugs is human flesh. “Natasha” is what they’re commonly called, whatever their real names may be. They’re lured into vans and onto airplanes with promises of real jobs as waitresses, models, or nannies. But when they arrive at their destination, they are stripped of their identification, and their nightmare begins. “The Natashas” exposes the global phenomenon of sexual trafficking, a form of 20
th century slavery and a multibillion dollar industry whose scope has until now remained largely unknown. The author, Victor Malarek, investigates everyone from organized crime, immigration officials, to police officers and international peacekeepers. Many of these individuals (men and women) are involved in the continuing of the sex trade. Shocking….

As Cathy and I traveled through Europe and as I read this book, I noticed again how God was leading us to pray in countries where the sex trade is heavily involved. Every country we entered, and every sea we crossed, according to the book, has had girls trafficked and still does today. Even more shocking I found that even where I live and work, these is a large amount of women and children trapped in the sex trade in the New York City and New Jersey area and they can’t get out. My heart is saddened while my knowledge of this industry grows. This industry must be stopped…again; I ask God what I can do to see an end to this grotesque and inhumane industry. Please pray with me…..
