This past Sunday after church we went out for coffee, which is the normal thing to do here in Bosnia-Hercegovina. It was myself, Cathy, Casey, Chad, 2 local full-time missionaries from the States, (Brooks and Corey), and Ines who just graduated from HS in Bosnia-Hercegovina and is going on her first missions trip to Ecuador this month. She speaks fantastic English, by the way!
After a wonderful time fellowshipping and sipping coffee, Corey asked us if we wanted to go swimming in these beautiful waterfalls about a 50 minute drive away. So, of course we said yes because who could say no to that!
Well…it sure was BEAUTIFUL! There were about 10 different waterfalls and swimming holes and rocks to climb. We all decided to swim across and climb these high rocks to reach another waterfall to swim under. Brrrr…was that water cold. Ines had to nicely…haha…pull me into the freezing water or I may not have entered on my own.
When we got to the other side, we carefully climbed the rocks and jumped through the waterfalls as we were praising God for His beauty. It was starting to get cold playing in the water so we decided to climb back down the rocks and swim back over to where our towels were.
Ines was climbing down the rocks right in front of me. When all of a sudden I saw her lose her balance and she began to fall forward into sharp rocks and fast moving water. My heart stopped but I would have been too late to grab her arm. She said, “Oh Jesus help!” At that moment I saw her pushed back up until she was secure again with her balance. That is when I was able to grab her arm. We both looked at each other in amazement because we knew it looked like she was going to fall. After we got off the slippery rocks I told her that an Angel pushed her back up to safety. She said to me, I know one did!
Wow…the way she was falling, there was no way she could have regained her balance unless there was help from an Angel…they are all around us and protecting us from danger. I got to see one in action with my very own eyes! Praise the Lord, Ines’ Angel protected her. She has a lot of the Lord’s work to do yet in Ecuador, Bosnia-Hercegovina, and around the world. I’m so glad Jesus’ saved you, Ines…in every sense of the word! God Bless.
