From February 14th-18th I was able to spend a glorious time with my husband, Cruz, here in Guatemala as he visited me from Iraq. My husband is serving in the United States ARMY for 18 months. During his leave from overseas, he made the long flight over to Guatemala.

He booked a junior sweet at the Hotel Atitlan with a beautiful view of the Lake Atitlan and the volcanoes. The hotel is a 10 minute drive from the house we are living in. This room was so elegant with candles everywhere, a fireplace, fresh flowers, rose pedals on the bathroom sink, a four poster bed, and a veranda.

We spent a wonderful time just talking about our lives and how God has been working in us. There were many hours sitting by the pool, in the jacuzzi, eating some good REAL food, laughing, and other things I can’t mention. haha

The last night we spent together, we bought dinner for my team, yellow, and lime (who recently just joined our efforts here in Panajachel). We bought them food with meat since we don’t eat much of it and brought it over to the house with a big cake! After we dropped the food off at the house we returned to our suite. The hotel set up a beautiful table on our veranda with candles leading to the table. We had a private waiter that brought us our food and drinks. So we experienced a very private evening.

It was just a very romantic evening to spend together before he returns to Iraq. Since Cruz arrived on Valentine’s Day it will be one to remember. I thank God for the opportunity for Cruz to visit me and meet my team along with teams yellow and lime (the South Africans). God is so good to me! Thanks Cruz for making the long trip to bring a smile to my face!
