While it may not be an entirely acurate description to title myself as a true "international artist," I did just leave my sixth and seventh piece of artwork around the world. As I have traveled around the world on the World Race, God has spoken greatly to my heart through art, and urged me to share and use this talent aroud the world. In Malaybalay, Philippines I was able to paint two murals at the New Life Home for boys, I was able to give a piece of art to a bar girl in Phuket, Thailand, while we were in Kampot, Cambodia I painting two murals for Light of Hope Church. And finally, this month in Kuala Krai, Malaysia, God gave me a prophetic word and picture to give to a woman we got to know, and I had the blessed opportunity to do a painting as well.
When we first arrived in Kuala Krai and learned of our busy schedule, I doubted that I would be able to find a place and have the time to do a mural. I figured that I would just leave a piece of art with someone special here. But God had other plans.
One day while we were having tea time at a church memeber's house, God brought up that new plan. The woman whose house we were having tea in, asked me about my artwork (which I hadn't talked to her about before). She asked me if I would be willing to do a painting in her home. I quickly agreed, and God gave me the picture for her soon after.
This woman is a true blessing from God. She has a quiet, gentle spirit, and her generosity and hospitality is truly humbling. She welcomed our team into her home for tea and dinner several times. Her warm heart, delcious curry puffs, and out of this world tea made for some sweet times of fellowship in her home.
So with a few days left in Kuala Krai, I set to work painting her front door. God gave me the verse Isaiah 58:11 for her, which speaks of God filling us with his love like a garden and a spring of water in a dry place. This woman has faced hard times, as her husband left her a few years ago. Because of that, she has struggled with loneliness many times. Being able to share God's encouragement and love with her through this verse and this painting was a blessing.
