Here I sit. A large backpack leans against the wall, my shampoo, towel, clothes bag, and computer lay outside. Random chargers overflow from my backpack, like extra arms sprouting out beneath my pajamas. Just a little taste of controlled chaos that is my home, wardrobe, dresser- essentially life- for the next eleven months.
And tomorrow, I officially start that journey.
In truth I've been on it for a while. Since January when I felt God leading me to missions again. The true passion of my heart. But now, it's real. I've been in Washington, DC since Friday, and tomorrow at 3pm I reunite with my team, and my squad.
How joyous that reunion will be! My new family, my brothers and sisters that I will travel around the world with for eleven months. The people that will see me at my best, and my worst. The people I will laugh with, and cry with. The people I will pray and worship with. The people that I will walk life with, touching the lives of others.
We won't return the same. But I am so excited to see what this next year holds, and I can't wait to share it with you!
I wanted to take a moment before I left the states to say THANK YOU. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, each and every one of you. I would not be where I am right now without you and your support. Your words of encouragement, your love, your prayers, your financial support. I am so very blessed to be surrounded by such an amazing body of believers.
I am so excited to tell you all that there has been $10,639 raised so far! That only leaves $4,161 to go by January 2012. WOW! God has provided every step along the way through you. Thank you for being His hands and feet, and going with me around the world to reach the brokenhearted, and to proclaim the truth and love of Christ beyond all borders.
Please consider helping me reach my final goal of $14,800! I have the $4,161 to go, and I know that God already has a plan to fill that. So please join me! You can click on the tab to the left that says, “Support Me.”
Please also keep my squad and my team in your prayers as we set off for Kenya this week! Pray for our last bits of preparation, for our travels to Africa, and the adjustments that we will face as we step into a new culture. Pray for Kenya, and the cities and ministries we will be working with. Pray that God prepares the soil and gives us the boldness to share His love at every turn!
See you in Africa!
