MOHI desires to conduct a Sunday night service as long as the World Race is in town. Tonight I was not exactly looking forward to leaving my cozy area and personal time, editing photos and reading, to go to a church service in a foreign language.

I of course stopped my editing, put down my book, and went to church.  God repeatedly declares that He rewards those who love him and do works for His glory.  Tonight was no different.  A group of racers were asked to lead worship and they eagerly embraced the opportunity.  They played four songs, had microphones, guitars, congo drums and even a keyboard!  It really was a performance.  I sang the songs; they are full of words that convict me to live and believe and strive harder to exemplify Christ in my life.

It wasn’t until the last song that I felt a whole new atmosphere in the room. I was personally stirred by this transformation.  The Revelation Song started with a single line sang by the worship team; then the whole room joined in with the chorus, and the church became a forceful choir!

As we sang “Holy Holy Holy is the Lord God Almightyâ€ the unified voice with which we had been singing began to break down.  Some of the words actually sounded wrong; “who’s singing?!â€

Revelation Song:

Worthy is the lamb who was slain,

Holy holy is He

Sing a new song

To Him who sits on

Heaven’s mercy seat

 Repeat

Holy Holy Holy

is the Lord God almighty

who was and is, and is to come

With all creation I sing

Praise to the King of Kings

You are my Everything

And I will, Adore You

Clothed in rainbows

Of living colors

Flashes of lightening

Rolls of thunder

Blessing and honor strengthen

Glory and power be

To you the only wise king

Holy Holy Holy

Is the Lord God almighty

Who was and is, and is to come

Filled with wonder

Awe struck wonder

At the mention of your name

Jesus your name is power

Breathe and living water

Such a marvelous mystery

While watching my friend Suzann sign this amazing song, I realized the Haitian students were singing in Creole.  Immediately my heart burst open!  God seriously overflowed my cup with the work He was doing.  I was personally touched by the work of the Spirit as I saw others worship, cultures collaborate, and words elegantly translated into hand motions and signs.  The tears that I fought off seemed to confirm the passion Gad has laid in my heart for cross cultural work.  I hope my heart will continue to seek the sprit in all the cultures I will experience this year.
