So Many Emotions
This month:
– I’m living with my team of 8 plus a whole other team of 7.
(stress)
-Our flight into LAX is less than one month away (eager)
-Elections are ending in America right now. There will be a new term beginning when we arrive home (nervous)

-I’m working with toddlers, trying to teach them to share
with one another and learn to say “please” and “thank you” (tired)
-I want to do activities like rafting, but don’t have any
money (disappointment)
-People are talking about their plans in December (interest)
-Computers are dying and electronics breaking (anxious)
-I have an abundance of ideas running through my mind
without one in particular standing out (out of control)
-We live in the land of pineapples but have only eaten it
once (hunger)

-Our cook is also hand washing our laundry for us!
(gratitude)
-There are bugs in my bed (uncertainty)
-We have an exercise space (thankful)
-I didn’t bring my whole pack to Mindanao, just my day
pack. (Sufficient)
-Finances are different this month and we, as a team, have
little say about how it is spent (frustrated)
-I’m two books away from completing the Bible this year
(proud)…but as of this posting I have finished. I read the Bible in one year. (educated and enlightened)

-The flight home is non-exchangeable, non-refundable. (sad)
-My team and I will be separated in less than one month
(strange)
-I get to see my family soon (excited)
-fried rice and noodles for breakfast (shocked and confused)

-discovering many adults don’t know how to make a pot of
coffee (sad for them)
-the daily changing horizon view from Mt Moria Camp (in awe)

-Seeing a young boy smile after making his own capital
letter “N” after working hard for a solid 30 minutes! (pride, excitement)
-PMS as an abbreviation for Premarital Sex in high school
conference (amused)
-attending a prayer night for local university students in Malaybalay as a final night of WR ministry (fitting)
-leaving clothes for the Ates (pronounced with short a, a-ta) at the children’s home (resourceful and charitable)
-teaching devotions at children’s home for the 5 beautiful young girls who live there and loved to read the world of God (impressed, stretched, adored)

-debrief is at a beach resort with buffet meals and comfortable beds (excited)
-the sun is so tempting and luring me out for hours to enjoy its radiance (burned)
-Alabama plays in the SEC Championship on Saturday (pumped up); hours before I get home to watch the game (sad but full of team spirit)

-The Lord hasn’t revealed my future (weirdly, I feel out of control and yet calm and confident!)
-I can see tangible evidence of how God has grown me this year (thankful and excited)
