Time to live life to its fullest in Romania

Last free day itinerary:
1. Cortea de Arges Monastery
2.  Dracula’s castle
3.  Bungee jumping

We woke up at 430 am for our 5 am departure.  On the road with snacks, Ipods and blankets.
We made great time and even had time to stop at a car garage for an oil change.  This was the first time I’ve been in the car while it was up on the lift.

The view from inside the car, looking over at another car on the lift. Weird.

The Monastery was definitively something to see!

After viewing the monastery we pasted an Orthodox Church with Holy Water station…

Refreshing my spirit with super cold Holy Water.

Soon after we were at Dracula’s Castle.
However, we were trying to be practical and smart in our planning.  If Bungee Jumping, we needed to eat first, then visit the castle…so we didn’t risk upset stomachs.
Cristi searched and searched for a McDonalds, but alas, we settled for pizza.

While at the restaurant, the Bungee people called and said to head their way.  So we had to put the castle off a few hours. At least we had seen it from the outside.

The view to the mountains was breathe taking.

Rachel and me on the edge of the cliff! ๐Ÿ™‚  great scenery.

After the drive through the mountains, we reached the
bungee cliff.  Hooray!
Up the wooden stairs, “read” and sign a waiver in Russian, and get suited up:

the ONLY hand-cranked bungee in Europe (maybe the world)

It was freezing! Up so high and in the mountains the wind whipped through my layers.
Yet, the sun was out, the view was marvelous,
and the thrill soon to come…
