forty-seven is my new favorite number. random? not quite. it is the number of people [including friends, family, strangers, & companies] that financially supported me on the world race.
there are few things in the world that make me tear up, and let me tell you, receiving forty-seven emails saying that another generous person(s) supported me will do the trick.
i had a hard time coming up with words for this blog because i can not begin to explain how thankful and amazed i am of my supporters. from the bottom of my heart, thank you. thank you for allowing me to follow God’s will for my life. thank you for being generous. thank you for sacrificing your God-given resources to allow me to go serve His people and be the hands and feet of Jesus in south america.
God has placed so many people, new and old, in my life through this journey. and by the grace of God, i, as of april 18th, 2016, am FULLY funded [it might not show up on my blog for a while]. the $17,561 that i thought seemed impossible to raise, was raised in only four months! God deserves a lot of praise and all the credit. He is so faithful and i am blown away by seeing our Creator work the last couple of months in my life, my squadmates’ lives, as well as my supporter’s lives.
side note: any donations given through my blog from here on out will go to the adventures general fund and will not go to support me personally. if you would still like to donate, please email me at [email protected] and i will let you know what items still need to be bought for my trip.
what’s next? i am “gearing” up (both figuratively and literally [still buying last minute supplies]) for training camp. i am training for a half marathon so i can keep up with the men on the man hike. 😉 and i am spiritually preparing myself for what is to come, which is a lot of unknown. and if you know me, you know that is going to be the hardest part. i know this coming year is going to bring many trials and hardships but at the end of the day, we serve a good God who will provide. and i am extremely excited to see what He has in store.
