Sometimes all we can do is praise the One who holds this world in His hands. This world is corrupt and dying. People are vicious, and rude, and unjust. We are an overwhelmingly sinful people, living on an overwhelmingly cursed planet. Our hearts desire wickedness of every kind, and we selfishly seek after only our own benefit. We have reached a point where we hand out little love. And forgiveness . . . well that’s like asking us to give up our most prized possession. We are not a people headed towards death, no, we were laid in the grave long ago. Nothing about us is pure, or holy, or just. We do not desire love, or forgiveness, or peace. We are wicked.
Sometimes all we can do is praise the One who holds this world in His hands. We are wicked, but He is not. He is holy. He is above reproach. He is the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. He is before all things, and in Him all things are made new. He is a just judge. He is perfect. His love is deeper than any love you will ever know. His judgement is clear, and His decisions are noble. He is overflowing with righteousness, and only in Him is our wickedness erased.
Sometimes all we can do is praise the One who holds this world in His hands!!! IN HIM OUR WICKEDNESS IS ERASED! Praise God for forgiveness, for grace, for second and third and fourth chances. This world is corrupt and dying, but He is alive. People are vicious and rude, but He is holy. We are overwhelmingly sinful, but He is above reproach. We are selfish and desire wickedness of every kind, but He makes all things new. We hand out little love, but He loves deeper than we could ever imagine. We. Are. Dead. But, He raises us to life!
This world is wicked, that’s why we are in need of a Savior. Christ is fully aware of our wickedness, and yet He chooses to love us. He knew we would struggle to forgive. He knew we wouldn’t be able to hold our tongue. He knew we would find little problem with pointing a gun at every situation, and people, we didn’t agree with. We are wicked, and the only thing that changes that is Christ’s righteousness.
So don’t look at a wicked world, and add to the wickedness by becoming bitter. Apart from Christ all we are capable of, is wickedness. Christ was aware of every rude comment, unforgiving heart, and sinful act, far before it came to be. Let God take care of the wickedness, and turn instead to what we are called to: To love God, and love People.
