GREETINGS

To my wonderful family and friends,

I hope you are all doing fantastically! I wanted to write to you and let you know of some of the exciting opportunities that have come up in my life.

This past year, God has been revealing to me that there is more to life than my daily routines, working 9-5 and my comfortable life here in Melbourne. Through listening to missionaries come and share about their experiences at church, studying Paul’s journey in the book of Acts in BSF (Bible Study Fellowship) and reading about Brother Yun’s incredible life in his book, ‘The Heavenly Man,’ God has been challenging and convicting me to break out of my comfort zone, step out in faith, and really do what Jesus has asked me to do in His Word.

I never thought God would lead me to become a missionary at this stage in my life, but I choose to be available and obedient to Him, even if it means giving up my comforts, lifestyle and surroundings to bring the good news and love of Christ to the poor, lost and broken (Luke 4:18).

I’m nervous about the things God will show me and break my heart for, but I’m excited to see my relationship with Him skyrocket over the next two years and the rest of my life.

THE WORLD RACE

The World Race is an 11-month Christian mission trip, through an organisation called Adventures in Missions.  As a participant, I will venture to 11 different countries (e.g. Romania, Ukraine, India, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia and Philippines) around the world.

Throughout the trip, my team and I will serve in partnership with churches and ministries in local communities to preach the Gospel, plant churches, work in orphanages, minister to women and children who are trapped in prostitution as a result of human trafficking, and bring the restoration and hope of the Father’s love to many tribes and nations.

Through adventure, ministry, community, and self-discovery, this ministry will allow me to really entrust my whole life to God and to really see the world (e.g. the need, injustice and poverty) and people (e.g. the poor, crippled, rejected and unloved) like Jesus sees them and develop a heart to love them like Jesus does. I also hope to develop the boldness and confidence to share the truth and love of Jesus Christ to all that I come into contact with.

PARTNERSHIP

I am so grateful for this opportunity that God has given me, and have every confidence that He will provide for my needs. Ultimately, my prayer is that He will do that through you. If you are still reading this letter, I am writing to ask if you would consider partnering prayerfully and/or financially with me in this ministry.

Even though this trip may sound exciting, I know there will be times when I will feel uncomfortable, scared, stressed and alone. Knowing there will be people praying for me will encourage me to continue to rely on God for his strength and his comfort. I also need to raise $15,500 to cover all of my expenses on the field. God has already blessed me by providing me with a job for the last three years which has allowed me to fund for this trip. However, having people support me above what I’ve saved up, allows me to give even more to those who are in need and gives me the ability to go wherever God has called me to go and serve when the World Race has ended.  If you feel like you are able to support me prayerfully, please click the “Say G’day” link in the upper left side of this website page and let me know so I can regularly send you emails on the trip. If you feel God is leading you to support me financially, which can be given as a one-time gift or as a monthly donation, you can make an online donation by clicking the "Support Me" link and complete your donation as instructed.

I am so excited to see how God will move in my life and in the lives of others next year.  I hope not only to be a blessing to those I serve, but also to you. I want to thank you in advance for prayerfully consider partnering with me in this ministry, and I look forward to sharing my experiences with you on my blog and hearing about your lives as well!

Much love,
                         Sarah
